English Drive in Summer, 2026

　中部学院大学教育学部では、中学校教諭1種（英語）の教員免許が取得できます。そのため、他大学の教育学部よりも英語の授業や行事が充実しています。毎年の夏は、英語漬けの3時間 English Drive in Summer からスタートです。参加を希望した学生たちが、Native English Speakers との英会話を楽しみました。身振り手振りを使いながら、すべて英語で交流していきます。始めは自分から恐る恐る英語で声をかける姿がみられましたが、活動を通して、徐々になれていきました。自己紹介から写真紹介、ある製品を扱ったコマーシャルづくり、そして、発表をしました。どの学生たちも、臆せず、どんどんと英語を使って関わろうとしていました。We had a really good time together!!

Students are trying to find their group members by asking questions. (グループのメンバーを質問しながら探しています。)

Students are doing a final check with their group members.(グループのメンバーの最終確認中です。)

Students from different grades are interacting with each other in English.(学年が異なっていても、学生同士でも英語を使って交流しています。)

Students are casually chatting in English within their groups, introducing themselves and more.(グループ内で自己紹介をしたりしながら、気軽に英語で会話をしています。)

In the second half, students create a short commercial. They use their chosen items to come up with humorous and creative commercials.(後半は、1分間のコマーシャルと発表です。選んだアイテムを使いながら、ユーモアのあるコマーシャルを作っています。)

Each group presents the commercial they created.(グループ毎に作成したコマーシャルを発表していきます。)

A student explains the 'Snacher' — a machine that pulls feelings right out of your head! (気持ちを頭からつまみ出す機械の説明中です。)

So, what can this sword do for you?(この刀で何ができるのでしょうか。)

Students experience both the joy and the challenge of expressing themselves in English. (英語で表現することの楽しさも難しさも体感しています。)
